Session at eSummit
WIDA is thrilled to announce its eSummit Online Learning Opportunity. This program is available to all domestic WIDA Consortium members (federal agencies, states, territories). The eSummit session will feature several key speakers including WIDA staff, educators, and experts in the field. Viet Thanh Nayen was a finalist in the PEN/Faulkner Award and a Pulitzer Prize Winner. WIDA Annual Conference began in 2013 and has since been to many different cities. 600 people attended and there was a long wait list. The conference now draws over 1,000 attendees. Video Library Conference
Video Library professionals will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and best practice to further the field. By using this digital platform, attendees can view conference video from any PC, Mac, iDevice, or web browser. Access to the videos is possible without special hardware. Additionally, attendees can share their online credentials and login details with library colleagues. Additionally, video library offers detailed instructions that will help attendees watch the conference program.
PLA celebrated its 75th year anniversary on October 13, 2019, and continues to celebrate its past in 2020. The PLA released an Anniversary video, featuring stories from members, and started a fundraising campaign in order to provide 15 scholarships at the Video Library Conference 2020. Students in library schools, early career librarians, as well as support staff, are eligible for scholarships. The organization also has two new initiatives in partnership with Microsoft that support library staff and increase professional development.
